Privacy Policy
How Storey Wills & Estate Planning collects, uses and protects your personal information.
Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website, including our enquiry form. If you become a client, we will give you a separate client privacy notice covering the information we need to prepare your will, trusts or other documents.
1. Who we are
Storey Wills & Estate Planning is the data controller for personal information collected through this website.
- Legal entity: Storey Wills & Estate Planning, a practice run by Tom Storey
- Contact address: 38 Larchwood Gardens, Gateshead, NE11 0DT
- Contact email: tomstorey.rothco@gmail.com
2. Data we collect
When you send an enquiry, we collect:
- Your name, email address and phone number
- The service you are interested in and whether you want a consultation or have a question
- Your preferred appointment type (home visit, phone or video call)
- Anything you choose to tell us in your message
Please do not include detailed financial or health information in the enquiry form. We will discuss these in person if they are relevant to your plan.
If you accept analytics cookies, we also collect information about how you use the site, such as pages visited, clicks and scrolling, device type and approximate location. This is not used to identify you personally. See our Cookie Policy.
3. Lawful basis for processing
- Legitimate interests: responding to your enquiry and arranging a consultation.
- Contract: where you go on to instruct us, processing needed to provide our services.
- Consent: analytics cookies, and any marketing emails you have explicitly agreed to receive. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. How we use and store your data
We use your enquiry details only to reply to you, arrange a consultation and keep a record of our conversation. We do not sell your information or share it with anyone for their own marketing.
We keep general enquiry information for 12 months from our last contact, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever is sooner. If you become a client, your information is kept for the periods set out in your client privacy notice.
Your information is stored securely with access limited to those who need it.
5. Third-party processors
We use trusted service providers to run this website and manage enquiries. They process data only on our instructions.
- Website hosting: Lovable (served over Cloudflare's network)
- CRM and enquiry handling: GoHighLevel
- Website analytics (only with your consent): Microsoft Clarity
- Web fonts: Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision are in place.
If we link to social media profiles, those sites are run by their own operators and have their own privacy policies.
6. Marketing communications
We will only send you newsletters or marketing emails if you have explicitly agreed to receive them. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also opt out at any time by emailing tomstorey.rothco@gmail.com. Opting out does not affect messages about an enquiry or work you have asked us to do.
7. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Rectification of anything inaccurate or incomplete
- Erasure of your information where there is no reason for us to keep it
- Restriction of how we use your information
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
To use any of these rights, email tomstorey.rothco@gmail.com. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.
